       In 2017 the Sheriff’s Office continued the Honor Flight effort.  Community Support behind getting our veterans on the flight truly brings our community together and negates all political and other differences.  In 2015 we saw that support grow remarkably and we are poised to grow the Honor Flight’s community involvement in 2018 and for the future of Owensboro and its Heroes. 

In 2017, 23 Veterans from our area took part in the Honor Flight.  Their service ranged from World War II to the Vietnam War.  We also had 22 Guardians who volunteered to assist our veterans on their journey.

     If you know a World War II or Korean War Veteran, he or she might be interested in going on an Honor Flight trip to Washington D.C.  Please call our office at (270) 685-8444 for information.
