The Criminal Investigation Division is commanded by Lieutenant Detective Jerry Spurrier, who has over 39 years of Law Enforcement experience with the majority of that experience in General Investigations and narcotics related cases.
The Criminal Investigation Division is responsible for the investigation of all felonies committed in Daviess County. This includes, but is not limited to, murders, rapes, robberies, burglaries, major assaults, stolen vehicles, and thefts and narcotics investigations. Lieutenant Detective Jerry Spurrier, Sergeant Detective Lee Blanton, Detective Kelsey Skaggs, and Detective Casey Foster have many years of combined experience that is of great benefit to this community. They are committed to protecting and serving the members of this community, and making it a safe environment in which to live and raise our children.
The Criminal Investigation Division was expanded dramatically under the leadership of Sheriff Cain. At one time Sheriff Cain, then a detective, was the only investigator assigned to C.I.D. Realizing that the citizens of this community deserved an active and dedicated Criminal Investigation Division, Sheriff Cain expanded this unit to include five full time Detectives. In fact, Lieutenant Spurrier has completed the Academy of Police Supervision (APS) course.
