Sheriff's Offices in the Commonwealth of Kentucky are a ‘fee service” entity. That is, we derive much of our operating expenses from the fees and taxes we collect. The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office collects approximately 67 million in taxes annually.
Our clerical staff's proficiency (averaging an approximate annual 99.3% collection rate) and the concern they exhibit in carrying out their tasks have earned them the respect of both their constituents and the taxpayers they serve.
In 2020, our office served just over 5,313 papers, which include Civil and Criminal Summonses, Emergency Protection Orders, Domestic Violence Orders, Interpersonal Protection Orders, Small Claims Summons, Eviction Notices, Eviction Hearings, Writs of Possession, Juvenile Summons, Subpoenas, Child Support & Paternity Summonses, Wage Garnishment, Court Orders, Motions / Notices from the Courts, Etc.
In 2020, our office collected $161,602 in fees for paper service.
